New York Deer & Elk Farmers Association was founded and formed in February, 2006 by deer and elk farmers within the State of New York who actively support farming and hunting and the protection of productive farmland and open space.

NYDEFA was formed to promote, provide, support, establish and represent the interests of the cervidae industry in the state of New York as well as work closely with other organizations to achieve one national voice for the rights of farming, hunting, breeding and the rights of landowners.

NYDEFA will be made up of and supported by members interested in a vibrant, profitable and diverse agricultural system that meets the needs of farm families, consumers as well as the environment.
